Scenario:
You used to have a DHCP server for each VLAN but this wasn’t much of a scalable solution. You decide to get rid of all the DHCP servers and install a single DHCP server in the datacenter. You see that the clients are sending DHCP discover messages but they are not reaching the DHCP server, up to you to relay some packets…
Goal:
- All IPv4 addresses have been preconfigured for you.
- Configure router Odin as a DHCP server.
- Ensure router Loki and Frey can get an IP address from the DHCP server.
It took me 1000s of hours reading books and doing labs, making mistakes over and over again until I mastered all the protocols for CCNA.
Would you like to be a master of networking too? In a short time without having to read 900 page books or google the answers to your questions and browsing through forums?
I collected all my knowledge and created a single ebook for you that has everything you need to know to become a master of CCNA.
You will learn all the secrets about DHCP, relaying and more.
Does this sound interesting to you? Take a look here and let me show you how to Master CCNA!

This was NOT an intuitive lab. I must have tried it about 10 times, before I went back and did the DHCP server/DHCP relay labs!!
Even then, one needs to think of the relay (even though in this lab it is also a client) as a server.
whew!
yes, the debug commands are useful here too.
I did cheat about attempt 8, and DID do a "show run"…. it didn’t do me any good. ha ha
