RIP Timers

Scenario:

“Tools Inc” is a small shop selling second-hand tools to network engineers. You are one of their customers and after buying a nice Axe they ask you for their help with their RIP network. The convergence time seems to be a bit slow and they ask you if it’s possible to tune it. Can you drop the hammer on this one?

Goal:

  • All IP addresses have been preconfigured for you.
  • Configure RIP version 2 on all routers and make sure you have full connectivity.
  • Tune the RIP timers so convergence is six times faster than the default.
  • Your changes should not effect the link between router Hammer and Wrench.

It took me 1000s of hours reading books and doing labs, making mistakes over and over again until I mastered all the protocols for CCNA.

Would you like to be a master of networking too? In a short time without having to read 900 page books or google the answers to your questions and browsing through forums?

I collected all my knowledge and created a single book for you that has everything you need to know to become a master of CCNA.

You will learn all the secrets about RIP, convergence, tuning the timers and more.

Does this sound interesting to you? Take a look here and let me show you how to Master CCNA!

  1. Hi Rene,

First of all i would like to thank you for creating such informative website as well as the hard + smart work.

Really after going through your Labs one can polish or master the skill of routing and switching related to cisco equipment.

Well i have 2 comments regarding your LAB.
1- The video is very blur can’t even see whats going on
2- Being a pro you type and flip through screen very fast. for an advance learner its find but for beginner really its not helping at all.

Thats it but again thanks for your help.

    Regards,

    Omer
